Dr. Muhammad Naveed Anwar
Dr. Muhammad Naveed Anwar is an atmospheric scientist, environmentalist, educator, and climate activist from Pakistan. He completes his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of California, Davis, under the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship awarded by the U.S. Department of State.
He has previously studied English Literature and American Culture at Drexel University, USA, and holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law from leading institutions in Pakistan.
Dr. Anwar is also a regular faculty member at Government College University, Lahore, where he teaches courses on Climate Change, Air Pollution, and Environmental Policy. His research has led to over ten peer-reviewed journal articles and six book chapters, cited more than 1250 times. Before joining academia, he worked as Deputy Manager Environment at Forward Sports, Sialkot — one of Pakistan’s largest sports manufacturing firms — where he ensured sustainability compliance with Adidas and ISO standards.
Driven by his passion for climate activism, he joined the Climate Reality Leadership Corps after being personally trained by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is an active member of the Bay Area and Sacramento chapters of The Climate Reality Project.
He is also member of different prestigious professional societies such as American Association for Aerosol Research, American Meteorological Society, USA and American Geophysical Union, USA.
His work spans air pollution monitoring, source apportionment, carbon capture and storage, and community-based environmental initiatives — including the installation of a clean drinking water facility that serves over 20,000 people in his hometown.

Air Pollution Monitoring, Characterization & Source Apportionment
As per World Health Organization (WHO), about 91% of the global population breathe polluted air leading to approximately 7 million premature deaths annually. These harmful impacts are disproportionate, with Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) at the forefront. To help LMICs address this issue.

Sustainable Energy through Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization
Climate change is a serious threat to all living creatures on the planet Earth. Deforestation and intensive use of fossil fuels have exacerbated global warming. The quest for a sustainable environment and combating global warming, carbon capture, and storage (CCS) has become the primary resort.
